Looking Back on an Incredible Year at Serenity Sensory Music

Reflecting on a Year of Music, Growth, and Connection

As another year draws to a close, December offers the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate everything that has happened over the past twelve months.

At Serenity Sensory Music, this year has been filled with music, laughter, learning, creativity, and countless meaningful moments shared with the wonderful children, adults, families, schools, and organisations I have had the privilege of working with.

Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for how far this journey has come.

Celebrating the Power of Music

One thing that continues to amaze me is the incredible way music brings people together.

Throughout the year, I have witnessed children finding their voices through song, individuals expressing themselves through rhythm and movement, and families sharing joyful musical moments together.

Music has the unique ability to communicate when words are difficult, provide comfort during challenging times, and create opportunities for connection that extend far beyond the session itself.

These moments are what make every session so rewarding.

Highlights from the Year

This year has included so many special memories, including:

🎵 Delivering sensory music sessions to children and adults across a variety of settings

🎵 Supporting individuals with Autism, ADHD, SEND, learning disabilities, and additional needs

🎵 Creating engaging seasonal and themed music experiences

🎵 Building relationships with families, schools, care providers, and community organisations

🎵 Continuing my own professional development and studies within Music Therapy

🎵 Expanding the resources and support available through Serenity Sensory Music

Every session has brought new opportunities to learn, adapt, and celebrate individual achievements.

The Small Moments Matter Most

While it's easy to focus on big milestones, some of the most meaningful moments are often the smallest.

A smile during a favourite song.

A child joining in for the first time.

A parent sharing positive feedback.

A participant choosing an instrument independently.

A moment of calm during an otherwise overwhelming day.

These seemingly small successes can have a huge impact, and they remind me why I am so passionate about the work I do.

Thank You to My Wonderful Community

Serenity Sensory Music would not exist without the support of the amazing people who continue to attend sessions, recommend my services, engage with social media content, and champion the importance of music and sensory wellbeing.

To every family, teacher, support worker, care provider, organisation, and participant who has been part of the journey this year, thank you.

Your trust and support mean more than words can express.

Looking Ahead to the Future

While this year has been full of achievements, there is also so much to look forward to.

Over the coming months, I will continue developing new resources, expanding educational content, growing the website, creating online learning opportunities, and finding new ways to make sensory music accessible to more people.

I am incredibly excited about what lies ahead for Serenity Sensory Music and cannot wait to share these developments with you.

A Final Thank You

As we prepare to welcome a new year, I want to take a moment to say thank you for being part of this incredible community.

Whether you attended one session or many, downloaded a resource, followed along online, or supported Serenity Sensory Music in any way, you have played a part in this journey.

I am truly grateful for every connection made, every song shared, and every smile created through music.

Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Christmas, a restful holiday season, and a wonderful New Year.

I look forward to making more music and creating more magical moments together in the year ahead.

Warm wishes,

Laura Seymour
