Music has the power to engage, inspire and connect learners in ways that few other activities can.
At Serenity Sensory Music, I provide sensory music sessions that support emotional wellbeing, communication, creativity and engagement for children and young people across a wide range of educational settings.
Drawing on over a decade of experience as a qualified teacher specialising in SEND, sessions are carefully designed to meet the needs of the pupils attending, creating meaningful musical experiences that are inclusive, accessible and enjoyable for all.

Supporting Learners Through Music
Every learner is unique.
Some pupils thrive through movement and creativity.
Some need opportunities to regulate emotions and reduce anxiety.
Others benefit from activities that encourage communication, confidence and social interaction.
Sensory music provides a flexible and engaging way to support a wide range of developmental, emotional and educational needs.
Sessions can complement existing wellbeing initiatives, enrichment programmes and SEND provision while creating opportunities for pupils to experience success through music.

Specialist SEND Experience
As a qualified teacher specialising in SEND, I have been supporting children and young people with additional needs since 2014.
Throughout my career, I have worked with pupils aged 4 to 19, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), across a wide range of educational settings.
This experience allows me to create sessions that are carefully adapted to meet individual learning, communication and sensory needs.
Depending on the needs of the pupils attending, sessions may incorporate:
• Visual prompts and imagery

• Musical cues and routines

My aim is always to create an environment where pupils feel safe, successful and able to participate in a way that works for them.

Supporting Emotional Wellbeing in Schools
Emotional wellbeing is at the heart of everything I do.
Many pupils face challenges that can affect their confidence, emotional regulation, communication and ability to engage with learning.
Through sensory music, pupils are given opportunities to:
• Explore and express emotions safely
• Develop self-awareness
• Build trusting relationships
• Improve confidence and self-esteem
• Reduce feelings of anxiety and stress
• Develop communication skills
• Experience success through creativity
For some pupils, music provides a valuable outlet for emotions that may otherwise be difficult to express through words alone.
Sessions can be delivered as one-off experiences or as part of a targeted intervention programme designed to support individual wellbeing goals.

Benefits for Pupils
Sensory music sessions may help pupils to:
• Build confidence
• Improve self-expression
• Develop communication skills
• Strengthen social interaction
• Explore creativity
• Support emotional regulation
• Improve engagement
• Experience success
• Develop listening and attention skills
• Enhance wellbeing
Most importantly, sessions provide opportunities for pupils to feel valued, included and successful.
Themed Sensory Musical Journeys
One of the things that makes Serenity Sensory Music unique is the use of immersive sensory themes.
Each session can take pupils on a multi-sensory musical journey, helping them explore the world around them through music, sound, movement, imagery and sensory experiences.
Popular themes include:
• Space
• Ocean
• Jungle
• Weather
• Seasons
• Woodland

Sessions can also be linked to curriculum topics, seasonal events or specific areas of learning, creating meaningful cross-curricular experiences that support engagement and curiosity.
If your school has a particular theme or topic in mind, bespoke sessions can also be created.
